mt. dayungan

I've skipped a couple of climbs for the past few months so I decided (ok fine. pinayagan ako ni Aisa) to join the Mt. Dayungan exploration.
(awesome morning)

Since it's an exploration, there's no trail (we're the first official campers. woot woot!!) and the place is super teeming with creepy crawly things, baboy ramo (pigs), lawin (hawks) and monkeys. It was actually awesome to see the hawks dive and capture something small and furry. Or maybe it was a smaller bird. I dunno.
We did a lot of U-turns (because of the many deep crevices) since we have Batman for a guide. If you even so much as blink, you'll find that he's already on the next mountain and you'll have to run uphill to catch up. We call him Batman because of his black cape - modified garbage bag. There were a lot of "traps" as well. If you make the mistake of looking at the clouds for 5 seconds, you'll fall into one and break something - just like NT.. Ouch! Or you'll disappear to the center of the earth forever. The end result? - millions of grass cuts and a 2 inch gash on my foot from a sharp rock. Nice. Now, I can't walk.

(our campsite with a view of 3 mountains - balingkilat, sinco pico, pinatubo)

(Lily!!! yung jacket mo naka akyat na ng bundok. ehhehe)

(silangin cove. saraaaapp puntahan. tara!!)

(balingkilat. 7 hours of pure ascend = death)

(dayungan peak. rock climbing!)

Walking (more of crawling actually + heavy breathing) for 7 hours under semi heavy rain (read: ass freezing)
+ Crossing about a dozen rivers (I could imagine being devoured by a crocodile or something)
+ Running out of food
+ Being 3 shades darker
+ Limping for 5 hours back to the jump off point because of the many gashes on my feet
= hellish

But the view on top was worth it.
